Mission & History
Arts Collective believes in the power of art to sustain people, communities, and culture. Through education, storytelling, and collaboration, we support intergenerational creative work that brings artists into relationship—sharing space, knowledge, and imagination across time.
We see art as a force for healing, expression, and social change—woven into the histories and futures we carry. Our work is rooted in Baltimore and guided by the belief that artists shouldn’t have to leave their home to flourish.
Founded by Sarah Berns-Zieve (BZ) in 2017, Arts Collective launched as an outlet for the creative expression of alumni, students, and faculty of Baltimore School for the Arts. In 2021 The Arts Collective at BSFA transitioned to being known as Arts Collective.
Arts Collective activates the power of art to nurture creative leadership, amplify intergenerational storytelling, and center Baltimore’s creative communities.
